| Bijzonderheden | : | De HST is een hoge snelheid windtunnel die in 1960 in gebruik is genomen. Te zien is het tunnelcircuit waarin de lucht, tegen de wijzers van de klok in, rond stroomt. De pijp links is de sluis die toegang geeft tot de meetplaats. Rechts, ter plaatse van de dubbele ring, is de schroef die de tunnel aandrijft. De schroefas gaat rechts het circuit in. De gekromde plaat boven het linker deel van de tunnel is een zonnescherm om thermische spanningen in de constructie te voorkomen. Later is een 'doos' (de overkapping) om het circuit heen gebouwd. The HST is the high speed windtunnel that became operational in 1960. The picture shows the tunnel circuit where the air circulates counter clockwise. The tube on the left gives access to the test section. The fan that drives the tunnel is located between the two rings that can be seen on the right side. The shaft that drives the fan enters the tunnel on the right side. The little 'roof' on the left side shields the tunnel circuit from the sun to prevent thermal stresses.
