| Bijzonderheden | : | Op deze luchtfoto zijn de na-oorlogse uitbreidingen zichtbaar. Te zien zijn links het hoofdgebouw uit 1940 aan de (kromme) Sloterweg, rechts daarvan de westvleugel, de laagbouwvleugel of middenvleugel (beide in 1948 gereed gekomen) en het windtunnelgebouw (1940) met beide lage-snelheidswindtunnels. In het midden de lichtgekleurde Lage Turbulentie Tunnel (LTT) in aanbouw, rechtsachter het grondwerk voor de Hoge SnelheidswindTunnel (HST) en vooraan de Centrale, die in een zeer korte tijd gebouwd was rondom stoomketels van afgedankte "Liberty" schepen, met de vijf karakteristieke schoorsteenpijpen. Achteraan op het terrein langs het water een grote tijdelijke loods. This aerial photo shows the post war extensions of the NLL. On the left the main building (1940) on the Sloterweg, and right thereof the West Wing and the Middle Wing (both completed in 1948) and the wind tunnel building (1939) containing two low speed wind tunnels. In the middle the light coloured parts of the Low Turbulence wind Tunnel (LTT) under construction, in the right corner the spadework for the High Speed wind Tunnel (HST) and in the front the electric power station, constructed in a short period around steam-boilers of obsolete Liberty ships, with the five characteristic chimneys. In the back of the terrain alongside the water a large temporary booth.
