| Bijzonderheden | : | Tijdens de feestelijke opening van het nieuwe kantoorgebouw van Koninklijke NLR in Marknesse in 2018 heeft PricewaterhouseCoopers Accountants N.V. (PwC) aan NLR een Pipistrel Velis Electro (officieel ingeschreven als Pipistrel Virus SW 128) geschonken. NLR heeft met deze gift van PwC een primeur: het eerste elektrisch aangedreven vliegtuig met een Nederlandse registratie PH-NLX. In de nieuwe NLR onderzoeksfaciliteit Living Lab Electric Flight (LLEF) zal NLR onder meer onderzoek doen naar de mogelijkheid het bereik van de Pipistrel Velis Electro te vergroten door middel van nieuwe batterijtechnologie of een brandstofcel en aerodynamische verbeteringen. Het vliegtuig heeft als thuisbasis de NLR-hangar op Rotterdam The Hague Airport (RTHA, Zestienhoven). Op de achtergrond is het "oude" laboratoriumvliegtuig, Cessna 550 Citation II, PH-LAB te zien. At the opening of the new office building of Royal NLR in Marknesse in 2018 PricewaterhouseCoopers Accountants N.V. (PwC) has donated to NLR a Pipistrel Velis Electro aircraft (officially registered as Pipistrel Virus SW 128). NLR has with this present of PwC a scoop: the first electric powered aircraft with a Netherlands registration PH-NLX. In the new NLR research facility Living Lab Electric Flight (LLEF) NLR will perform research into increasing the range of the Pipistrel Velis Electro by new battery technology or fuel cells and aerodynamic improvements. The aircraft has its home base on Rotterdam-The Hague Airport (RTHA, Zestienhoven). In the background the "old" laboratory aircraft Cessna 550 Citation II, PH-LAB, is visible.
