De eerder aanwezige staartslof is vervangen door een bolvormig lichaam. Tijdens een demonstratie van de helikopter op 29 augustus 1930 op Schiphol brak een rotorblad af, waardoor het toestel zwaar beschadigd werd en niet meer kon worden hersteld. The picture shows the Von Baumhauer helicopter in its final configuration. The rotormast is additionally supported with cables to reduce the oscillations of the mast when the rotor is running. The earlier tail skid is replaced by a ball type support. During a demonstration of the helicopter on 29 August 1930 at Schiphol a rotor blade detached.
